eForms¶
Why this matters¶
eForms are IRCC's official forms: IMM 5645 (additional family information), IMM 5476 (use of a representative), IMM 5707 (spousal information), among others. Traditionally filled by hand or on downloadable PDFs that get corrupted easily. ImmCase presents them as web forms filled with the applicant's already-captured data — without re-typing name, date of birth, passport number — and on save they generate the official signable PDF, ready to send to IRCC.
This saves hours per case and eliminates the most common error source in an application (inconsistent data across forms).
Create a new IMM form¶
- Open the relevant case.
- IMM forms tab → Create new.
- Pick the form type (IMM 5645, IMM 5476, etc.) from the catalog.
- ImmCase opens the web form pre-filled with the applicant and case data.

Fill out the form¶
The web form has the same fields as IRCC's PDF version, but:
- Fields the system already has (name, date of birth, nationality, etc.) come pre-filled.
- Empty fields you complete yourself.
- Validations happen instantly — if you enter a bad date or an invalid country code, it warns you.
- Sections save automatically as you progress (you don't lose anything if the browser drops).
For fields that depend on a secondary applicant (spouse, kids), the system asks you for their data. Once captured, those also get reused in future forms.
Save as draft¶
If you don't finish in one session, Save as draft lets you continue later. The form stays in Draft status in the case's tab. On return, open the draft and pick up where you left off.
Generate the official PDF¶
When you finish:
- Generate PDF button.
- ImmCase produces IRCC's official PDF with the filled-in data.
- The PDF is saved to the case's auto-folder (
Cases/<case>/IMM forms/). - You download it to print and have the client sign, or send by email for electronic signature.
The generated PDF has the same format and margins IRCC requires — passes their portal's validation.
Version and edit¶
IMM forms tend to change between client iterations — the spouse changes jobs, the applicant updates an address. To modify an already-generated form:
- Open the form from the IMM forms tab of the case.
- Edit button.
- Modify.
- Save and regenerate PDF.
ImmCase keeps version history: the old version stays accessible (you can download it if you need it), and the new one is active.
Share with the client for signing¶
ImmCase can:
- Generate PDF for manual signing — you download, print, client signs, you scan, you upload.
- Send for electronic signing (if your practice has the integration) — the client gets a link, signs in their browser, the signed PDF returns automatically to ImmCase.
Form statuses¶
- Draft — in progress of being filled out.
- Generated — PDF created, pending signature.
- Signed by applicant — ready to submit.
- Submitted to IRCC — sent.
- Accepted / Refused by IRCC — response received.
Available forms¶
The catalog depends on how many IMM forms your practice has enabled, but typically includes:
- IMM 5645 — Family information.
- IMM 5476 — Use of a representative.
- IMM 5707 — Family information for spouse / common-law partner.
- IMM 5669 — Schedule A — Background / declaration.
- IMM 5562 — Supplementary — visit history.
- IMM 5710 — Application to extend stay.
And many more depending on the case type. Your administrator can add new ones as IRCC publishes them.
Watch out for¶
- Don't edit the generated PDF by hand. If you find wrong data, go back to the web form, fix it there, and regenerate. Editing the PDF breaks consistency between ImmCase data and the submitted PDF data.
- IRCC changes form versions. ImmCase updates templates when IRCC publishes new ones, but if you submitted a case 3 months ago with an old version, that version stays in your history. For a new one, make sure to use the current version.
- Some fields require non-standard data. For example, IMM 5645 asks for addresses for the last 10 years. If you don't have them, capture them on the applicant first — the form picks them up on regeneration.
- Check the form's language before generating. Some IMM forms have English and French versions. Generate the one the client will sign.
